The Gorokan Seniors Computer Club is a member of the Association of Seniors Computer Clubs of Australia We are here to learn more about computers and the internet, and to have fun. If you have just got a new computer and don't know what to do with it, come and join us and we will help you.
We meet at the Anglican Church hall, 27 Hammond Road, Toukley. Meetings are held on every Monday except Public Holidays and a short break at Christmas. We meet at 9.45 am for a 10.00 am start. The meeting lasts 2 hours, and includes morning tea.
On the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month we have presentations with interesting subjects ranging from new software appraisals to lessons in particular programs, music, photos, videos, making calendars, letters, flyers, email, internet, etc.
For an hour on the 3rd Monday of each month we have Questions and Answers
On the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month we have an advanced class and a beginner’s class, where we help novices come to grips with their computers. Bring your own computer (laptop or tablet) along to the class, if you have one. If you do not have one then a club computer is available. With beginners, we do not have scheduled courses as we want you to learn at your own pace. Usually there is one teacher to two or three beginners On the 5th Monday of the month we have an open day, where any subject can be investigated Costs are an annual membership fee of $30, and a weekly fee of $5 to cover morning tea and hall-hire costs, insurance, etc. Visitors are welcomed at $5 per visit for a maximum of two visits before joining Wheelchair access is available We welcome new members with little or no computer skills and those who can assist in demonstrating their own computer skills to others We look forward to seeing you, just turn up on the day Note: The club does not use Apple computers.
